Sweet Watermelon Popsicles (My Diagnostic Edge)

You all know that for 20-plus years I’ve been in the solutions business. It has been my job — from the minute I stepped onto the clinic floor — to find answers for patients. Many of those who walked through my door considered me the “Last-Stop Doc,” meaning patients had been everywhere and tried everything before they made an appointment with me. Unfortunately, for a lot us, wellness is not on our radar until it needs to be.

Here was the typical scenario: Patients would walk in with a thick file of test and lab results, as well as doctor notes. They’d hand all that over to me and say, “Now what?”  Many of them were scared, frustrated and even felt hopeless.

I’d get all CSI-like, and became exceedingly successful at diagnosing and coming up with natural solutions. And I still handle my cases like a detective — I call it my “diagnostic edge.”

This “edge” started when I was in my last two years of high school and continued into my first two years in college, when I worked for Princeton University Health Services, observing closely the many doctors in a clinic setting. Those amazing medical professionals took me under their wings and gave me my first lesson on what is was like to see patients, read test results, X-rays and much more. It was through their encouragement that I continued my medical education three-fold. They helped me with my college applications, choosing the right college fit, and even how to study once I got there. I will never forget what they did for me. Ever since then, I knew what I wanted to do, and how much I wanted to make a difference.

Fast forward to about a year ago, and I’m now in practice for some 20 years. It was then that I launched this blog with one intention in mind —  to offer you value from all of my experiences. As of more recently, my blog has a new and exciting twist that focuses not only on diet and how it affects health, but also lifestyle.

Drop me a line and tell me what you want to learn, or about a problem or concern you may be having. What do you want to know? What’s on your mind? How can I add value to your life?

And while we’re on the topic of value, check out these fantastic Sweet Watermelon Popsicles. These are great for moms looking for a super easy (I mean like really simple) sweet treat for the kids. Even better, let the kiddos help you make them. My boys make these with me and they love how they can get their hands all messy … and how the end results are “see-thru.”

These sweet-and-easy popsicles will always remind me of hot summer days with my boys. Now you can create some cool memories, too.

No food dyes, sugar or yuck. You and your kids will love these!

Keep thinking big and living bold!
